A: You are welcome at Snoqualmie Falls Ophthalmology. We do offer a cash discount for payment in full at the time of service. Also, if you are in a difficult financial situation, please let us know in advance so that we can discuss payment plan options. Sliding scale rates are available on a case-by-case basis based on the degree of financial need.
Q: What if I have medical insurance, but I don't have a vision plan? A: Not all people with medical insurance have vision insurance. Figuring out the difference between the two can be very confusing! Vision insurance is intended for routine eye exams in people who do not have eye concerns other than the need for glasses or contacts. Snoqualmie Falls Ophthalmology is primarily a medical and surgical eye care practice, although we can also provide vision services.
Medical insurance is indicated for evaluation of symptoms (redness, pain, grittiness, new floaters, new distorted vision, double vision), for care of eye diseases (for example, for conditions like glaucoma or diabetic eye disease) or screening in high risk patients (for example for patients on medications that may cause side effects in the eyes or patients with diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history of eye diseases).
As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Dale has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of both common and unusual eye conditions. For the majority of our patients, we will provide you with a complete medical eye exam and bill under your medical insurance. Please let us know prior to your appointment if you would like us to look into billing your vision insurance.
